It was challenging for us to design a home for a family of five, along with two dogs and a cat. “How to divide this apartment?” It was the first question came up in my mind. Fortunately, it was an old-style unit that we could remove all walls and rearrange the whole setting. Maximizing the utilization of space, we successfully fulfilled needs of each family member.

Although many factors must be taken into consideration, we did not compromise aesthetics. Agreed to take the transitional style for this project, we based on the European classic style, and added modern Nordic and industrial elements to get the balance.

We let arcs run through the entire design. Curved shapes can be found in the living room decoration cabinets, lamp troughs and bathroom shower screens. They flow freely to hide the corners of the walls, thereby increasing the sense of space. Asymmetry between the living and dining room occurs due to the rearrangement of division. The curved glass cabinet not only highlights the living room, but also goes well with the lighting to make the asymmetric areas seems symmetrical and harmonious.

Thank you Ball & Miffy, and hope their children can grow up happily in this home.
